How do I qualify for an advance?
To qualify for a Credit Genie Cash Advance:
- - You must show a checking account with at least 30 days of daily or weekly activity.
- - Your checking account should have a positive balance on the day you receive a paycheck.
- - Your account must show $2,000 a month in recurring direct deposits. However, ATM deposits, paper checks, cash transfers or irregular pay schedules do not qualify.
- - You must have received at least one paycheck in the past 15 days.
- - You can only qualify for one cash advance at a time.
- - The account you are connecting should not be a joint account
- - Your account must receive at least 2 direct deposits per month
How long should I wait to receive my cash advance?
You should receive your cash advance in your bank account within 1-3 business days after requesting it. In most cases, if you request a cash advance prior to 5:00 PM EST on a business day, you should receive the advance the next business day. If your advance request was received after 5:00 PM EST, it should arrive the second business day after the request was received.

How do I pay back the cash advance?
Credit Genie withdraws the advance on your repayment date.
- - Your repayment date is shown to you when you request the advance and is visible in the app at all times.
- - Your repayment date is usually the date on which you are expected to receive your next paycheck.
Why is my repayment taking so long to process?
It takes 2-5 business days for our payment provider to verify your payment of the advance in our bank account. Once we have confirmation from our bank directly, we automatically update your advance as paid. Our bank confirmation may be pending even though your statement shows a payment to Credit Genie.
Note that we cannot manually mark advances as paid.
Can I change my repayment date?
No. On the scheduled repayment date, Credit Genie will check whether you have sufficient funds to pay your advance. If you do, your account will be debited for the advance amount plus any tips you agreed to. If you do not have sufficient funds, Credit Genie will check again periodically.
Does Credit Genie charge late fees or penalties?
No. Credit Genie has no late fees, penalties, or interest. You are responsible for repaying your advance. If we cannot collect the advance from your account after 60 days, Credit Genie will stop trying to collect your advance and you will no longer be eligible for another advance.
Can I pay the advance back early?
Not at this time, but that's a feature we are working on!
How much does Credit Genie cost?
The Credit Genie app is free to use and includes interest-free, no-fee cash advances to tide you over untill you get paid.
There is also a $1.99 per month fee for connecting your bank account to Credit Genie.
Who can use Credit Genie?
US residents 18 years and older can use Credit Genie. A membership fee of $1.99 per month and a bank account are required to be able to use features like Insights and Alerts. No credit score required.

How do I connect my bank account to Credit Genie?
Credit Genie uses an industry-leading service called Plaid to connect to your bank account and verify your information.
